Japshow - 17th June 2012

Well this was my first Japshow for 3 years and I had been looking forward to getting back to Santa Pod for a revisit. I was not dissapointed with what I found, not only had the place and some injection of funds for new grandstands, further tarmac areas for the Drift displays and a much more buzz about the place.

The show itself was not dissapointing either, with what I thought was going to be "yet another Jet Car Demonstration" well how wrong was I. It did a blistering 1/4 mile run and did it in a staggering 5.87 at over 270 mph, it was awesome.

A further highlight of the show was a certain Black Nissan Skyline GTR that just made you want one so badly, we left the show feeling we need to save up and purchase one of these cars, then further funds to modify it. The one we had particulary got attached too had obviously had a little rework, and putting in consitent times down the track, the best being a 9.72 @ 154.68 mph pass and claiming the RWYB winner for the day.

It was a great entertaining show, and the track action was a big part of it, with Jeff Ludgate in the yellow Skyline R34 GTR taking the win with some side by side action in the final against Mark Moseley in another GTR.

Another machine on the track was the MOTUL stickered GTR drag car, putting is some impressive 6.6 second passes making it the quickest Jap Car in Europe.

Make sure you join me and experience it yourself at Japshow - The Finale.
