Japfest - 11th May 2012
Well the first car show I attended in over 3 years and I was not to be dissapointed, with it being the 10th Anniverary show, it was sure to get the crowds in and it certainly did that.
Having to get up at 4:30am it was a reminder to me while I stopped going to car shows, but seriously it was to meet up with the guys and gals of the Civic Type R owners forum to grab tickets and stand passes and head down to Castle Combe, just outside Chippenham.
We knew it was going to be busy being the first show of the calendar, but it took us over an hour to finally get in and get parked up on the stand. It was a joint affair between CTRO and Rebel Motorsport Club who were mainly responsible for organising this and getting everyone all together.
The show was packed to the rafters, well hedges, with cars from all Japanese manufacturers including some classics.
Track action was not to be missed either, as well as the private track sessions the Drifters were out in between showing how it is done, and passenger rides available from in their ex BTCC touring car Civic's it was busy all day. A few incidents on the way but I think overall it was a pretty quiet day for the recovery guys.
I left very happy indeed and enjoyed the day, weather was great, cars were great and so what else could you ask for.
Roll on Japfest 2!!!
